What It’s Like to Work Together at Liminal Psych

Individual therapy at Liminal Psych is a focused, supportive space for women in Charlotte, NC who are ready for something more than coping strategies. You may appear “fine” to everyone else on the outside, but feel chronically anxious, overwhelmed, burned out, or disconnected on the inside.

In our work together, we can begin to make sense of the patterns beneath the constant busyness, over functioning, and overwhelm. Other common issues that my clients experience are things like perfectionism, emotional suppression, relational stress, and unresolved trauma.

My approach is relational and interactive, meaning the relationship we build is an essential piece to deeper work. I use depth oriented psychotherapy aimed to understand the framework you use to experience the world, we don’t go back to your childhood with the intent to stay there, but to better understand who you are today. I also use EMDR, IFS-informed parts work, attachment-based therapy, and somatic support so you can feel safer in your body, clearer in your choices, and more connected to yourself.

In-person Charlotte sessions and virtual NC sessions are available.

Individual Sessions

    • Individual therapy provides the time & space to develop an understanding of the internal roots of the issues you struggle with. As the client, you get to set the pace & direction that we go, while I help you gain clarity by noticing patterns & cycles that will offer you language and understanding that will help you articulate what you’re experiencing, needing, and wanting.

    • As a general starting point, meeting weekly builds a strong foundation for trust and safety to develop. From there we’ll establish a schedule that matches the treatment you’re needing and what feels right to you.

    • 50 minute sessions and 80 minute sessions available depending on needs.

    • Therapy is collaborative process, meaning it’s a relationship that requires participation from both the client and therapist.

    • Ultimately, this therapeutic relationship needs to feel like a safe and trusting space to allow you to feel comfortable opening up.

    • Understandably, this kind of trust & safety takes time & consistency to build. The safer you feel over time, the more we’ll be able to learn about your patterns and understand your needs, fears, desires, and so on. This can be a delicate process and is unique to each client.
